El Estado Anzoátegui reune las condiciones necesarias para satisfacer al turista más exigentes ya que allí se concentran ciudades y poblaciones importantes, museos y sitios históricos, parques y otros sitios de interés turístico.
Ciudades y poblaciones importantes
Anaco: es uno de los centros urbanos petroleros ubicados en esta región oriental. Ha experimentado un veloz crecimiento comercial en los últimos años, tiene un aeropuerto y líneas de autobuses las cuales la unen con las principales ciudades.
Boca de Uchire: situada en el límite con el Estado Miranda, sobre la Carretera a Oriente. Su principal atractivo turístico es la Laguna de Unare, rica en pesca y el pueblo El Hatillo, famoso por sus camarones.
Puerto La Cruz: situada en la orilla de una bahía, es una ciudad relativamente nueva y de rápido crecimiento. Tiene un comercio intenso, agradable vida nocturna y excelentes hoteles y restaurantes. Uno de los lugares preferidos por los turistas es el Paseo Colón, puesto que se encuentra frente al mar y lo bordean restaurantes, hoteles, fuentes de soda y centros nocturnos.
Al final del Paseo Colón, se encuentra el Terminal de Ferrys, los cuales hacen varios viajes diarios a la Isla de Margarita. Estos ferrys son barcos rápidos y confortables, con aire acondicionado, ambiente musical, bares y restaurantes. Puerto La Cruz, por su desarrollo comercial, financiero y turístico, es la principal ciudad de Anzoátegui, verdadera puerta de entrada al Oriente venezolano.
Museos y sitios históricos
La Casa Fuerte: fue el antiguo convento de Los Misioneros Franciscanos. Esta ubicada en la Avenida 5 de Julio y la calle Eulalia Buroz, Barcelona.
Museo de Anzoátegui: se encuentra ubicado cerca de la Plaza Boyacá. El museo posee una variedad de piezas y objetos relacionados con la historia de Barcelona.
Museo de La Tradición: es una casa colonial donde se conservan armas antíguas, estatuas, pinturas y algunas curiosidades.
Gruta de San Felipe: esta ubicada en la Plaza de San Felipe. Es una gruta en ruinas de profundo contenido histórico.
Parques
Parque Nacional Mochima: se encuentra ubicado en la región nororiental de Venezuela, entre las poblaciones de Barcelona, Puerto La Cruz y Cumaná. Ocupa una franja litoral con zonas de montaña, costas de aguas profundas, arrecifes e islotes. La principal vía de acceso a este parque es la carretera que une a las ciudades de Barcelona, Puerto La Cruz y Cumaná.
Parque Recreacional La Sirena: situado en la vía Puerto La Cruz-Guanta.
Sitios de Interés Turístico
Aguas Termales de Naricual: se encuentran en el Km. 12, vía Barcelona-San Mateo.
Complejo Turístico El Morro: es un desarrollo turístico situado entre las ciudades de Barcelona y Puerto La Cruz. El complejo está formado por dos sectores, una zona llana llamada la Aquavilla y una Península montañosa denominada El Morro.
Estadio Alfonzo Carrasquel: es el estadio de beisbol sede de los Caribes de Oriente, en Puerto La Cruz.
Paseo Colón: es un paseo frente al mar que se encuentra bordeado por restaurantes, tascas, hoteles y centros nocturnos. Se encuentra en Puerto La Cruz y es propicio para caminatas, diversión y disfrute con su pareja y/o amigos.
Termas de Clarines: esta situada en el Km. 27, vía Clarines-Boca de Uchire.
Bahía de Pertigalete: islotes a 25 Km. de Puerto La Cruz.

The State of Anzoátegui gathers the necessary conditions to satisfy the most demanding tourist. This State of Venezuela has important cities and towns, museums and historic sites, parks and other interesting touristic sites.
Important Cities and Towns
Anaco: important oil-producing urban center, with rapidly growing commercial development in recent years, it has airport and bus lines which link Anaco, with the main cities.
Boca de Uchire: located on the border of the State of Miranda, on the "Carretera a Oriente" (eastern road). Its main touristic site is the Laguna de Unare, teeming with fish and the town El Hatillo, reputed for its shrimps.
Puerto La Cruz: located on the shores of a bay, its a relatively new founded town and with growth. It has intense commercial activity, pleasant nightlife and excellent hotels and restaurants. One of the most attracting places of this town is the Paseo Colón (Colón Boulevard), a favourite site for the tourists, because it is located in front of the sea, bordered by restaurants, hotels, soda fountains and centers for night amusement.
At the end of Paseo Colón, it is located the Ferry Boats Terminal Station, which make several daily trips to the Island of Margarita. These are rapid and comfortable Ferry-boats, provided with air conditioning, musical ambients, bars and restaurants. Puerto La Cruz is the main city of the Anzoátegi State, the real gateway to eastern region of Venezuela.
Museums and Historic Sites
La Casa Fuerte: it was the old convent of the Franciscan Friars. It is located on the Avenida 5 de Julio and street Eulalia Buroz, Barcelona. La Casa Fuerte was destroyed by the royalists in a heavy attack in 1817. Over 1500 people, both defenders and the civilians who took refuge here, lost their lives in the massacre which followed the takeover. The surviving parts of the walls have been left in ruins as a memorial.
Museo de Anzoátegui: located near to the Plaza Boyacá, the real city's historic centre. The museum features a varity of objects related to Barcelona's history.
Museo de La Tradición (Tradition Museum): it is a colonial house which preserved old arms, statues, pictures and some curiosities objects.
Gruta de San Felipe: it is located in the Plaza San Felipe. It is a grotte with ruins of deep historical value.
Parks
Mochima National Park: it is located on the northeartern region of Venezuela, between the towns of Barcelona, Puerto La Cruz and Cumaná. The park covers a littoral strip with zones of mountains, deep waters coasts, reefs and islets. The main way of access to the park is the road linkink the towns of Barcelona, Puerto La Cruz and Cumaná.

Aguas Termales de Naricual (Thermal Waters): located at Km. 12, on the way Barcelona-San Mateo.
Complejo Turístico El Morro: it is a touristic development located between the towns of Barcelona and Puerto La Cruz. This complex consists of two sectors, a flat zone called La Aquavilla and the other a mountainous peninsula called El Morro.
Estadio Alfonzo Carrasquel: the head quarters of the baseball team Caribes de Oriente, in Puerto La Cruz.
Paseo Colón: boulevard located in front of the sea, bordered with restaurants, hotels and centers for night entertainment, in Puerto La Cruz. This place is ideal for strolling, dining, dancing and enjoying the city’s nightlife.
